Police are investigating the death of an influencer after her aesthetic procedure went fatally wrong.
Olivia Oras, 27, attended a private clinic in Helsinki, Finland, for planned liposuction, but she lost consciousness after the anaesthetic was administered.
Oras was taken to Helsinki University Hospital, where she died several days later on September 3.
The Finnish influencer’s grieving family is now seeking answers and has ‘filed a police report about the matter’, as confirmed by a spokesperson to People.
Helsinki Police said the investigation ‘is in its early stages’, and there is ‘no further information to share at this time’.
They have launched a probe into possible aggravated manslaughter, a crime carrying jail time of up to six years.

While individuals under investigation have not been publicly identified, the Plastic Surgery Center in Helsinki was busted by cops.
There, clients were found to be ‘seriously endangered’ by clinicians, and the ‘immediate suspension’ of both the company’s locations was ordered.
Oras rose to prominence when she was just 14, when she began sharing her life online.
In 2016, aged 16, she featured in the documentary titled The Perfect Selfie; cameras followed her for 18 months in what was described as a ‘modern coming-of-age story in the social media era’, depicting her relationship with the internet and her followers.
However, following the documentary’s release, Oras developed anxiety and fled to Amsterdam, shutting down her social accounts.
Working at a café, she had plans to study at university before witnessing a friend in her apartment building die by suicide, something she couldn’t shake from her mind.

‘I was just building the life of my dreams, but now I saw what happened in my eyes over and over again,’ she shared in a 2024 interview.
She then moved back to Helsinki to be with her parents but grappled with alcoholism and a sleeping pill addiction, which she spoke publicly about.
Oras entered an addiction facility for a month in 2022.
In her final years, she founded an organisation supporting pulmonary disease research following her father’s own pulmonary fibrosis diagnosis.
She also served as the Head of Community at an AI start-up and worked in marketing for a wellness technology company.
