Michelle Keegan has wowed in Fool Me Once (Picture: VISHAL SHARMA)
Netflix show Fool Me Once has been a hit, and if you’re already finished then we have some good news – there’s plenty more excellent thrillers to discover.
There isn’t always a huge amount to do in January thanks to our dwindling back balances with their Christmas hangovers – unless of course, you’re a celebrity who flies off to an exotic location. This is why we’ve all been especially grateful for Fool Me Once’s existence. A few of us have even been trying to cancel the only plans we do have – AKA work – to get the series watched and discover what is really going on.
The addictive thriller from writer Harlan Coben begins in the aftermath of the brutal murder of ex-Army Officer Maya’s (Michelle Keegan) husband Joe (Richard Armitage).
However, the investigation is thrown off-course when Joe mysteriously appears alive on Maya’s nanny camera, hugging their daughter, which unravels a web of dark secrets.
If you’ve managed to complete the eight episodes in just under six days then congratulations on your commitment to Netflix, and now you’re probably wondering what’s going to fill your evenings.
Well, instead of staring at a blank wall after The Traitors try one of these equally brilliant thriller series…

Coben signed a deal with Netflix, which means that 14 of his novels will be developed into original series. So far we’ve had eight of those dropped onto the platform, which can easily be found if you search the novelist’s name.
If you’re a Coben newbie then we suggest making The Stranger your second watch.
This time fan-favourite Richard plays Adam who is told a secret by a, you guessed it – a stranger, and soon his wife goes missing. It’s addictively tense as lives begin to unravel and unexpected connections appear.

Richard clearly can’t get enough of Coben’s works and takes on another complicated character in Stay Close.
Megan (Cush Jumbo) has a seemingly perfect life with a gorgeous home and loving family, but she’s keeping secrets from the past. Nightclub owner Lorraine (Sarah Parish) tracks her down to inform her a detective is once again investigating the mystery disappearance of husband and father, Stewart Green. You’re wondering where Richard comes into all of this – well he is a disgruntled paparazzo who once dated Megan.
The revelation that Megan once used to be an exotic dancer at a club feels a little dramatic, but the story has plenty of twists that make that factor forgivable.

A seemingly normal person with an average life uncovering a web of secrets is a thriller favourite for a reason.
At the start of Safe, we meet the widowed father of two, Tom (Michael C. Hall). When his teenage daughter goes missing, he discovers a lot he didn’t know about.
On top of those titles from Coben, there is also Gone for Good, The Innocent, Hold Tight, and The Woods. Have fun!
Now while you wait for the other six to join Netflix, you can get working through this list…

The thriller centres on married couple Dean (Bobby Cannavale) and Nora Brannock (Naomi Watts) who, after moving into their dream home, receive threatening letters from a terrifying stalker known as The Watcher.
The drama was created by Glee’s Ryan Murphy, and stars Jennifer Coolidge as a real estate agent, but what makes the series even more haunting is it is based on true incidents.
Not everyone was happy with the ending, so be warned if you dive into the series you may finish a little unsatisfied. It’s a wild ride to get to that point, which makes it worthwhile in our opinion.

To conclude our list we have another entry from the man himself – Coben. Mickey (Jaden Michael) is in a car crash with his dad Brad (Kristoffer Polaha), but after moving to a new town, he meets an elderly woman who informs him that his dad is still alive.
When his classmate and potential love interest Ashley (Samantha Bugliaro) goes missing, alongside his new school friends he tries to solve the mystery which could be connected.
It may not sound like it, but Shelter also has some comedic moments which provide a welcome relief from the darkness.
