DJ Jason Wilder, 48, collapsed on the old railway line footpath between the Arcadia Stage and the Other Stage just before 4am on Sunday

The identity of a man who died at Glastonbury on Sunday has been revealed.

DJ Jason Wilder, 48, collapsed on the old railway line footpath between the Arcadia Stage and the Other Stage just before 4am on Sunday.

Although he received treatment from emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Avon and Somerset Police told Metro.co.uk: ‘Shortly before 4am today emergency services responded to medical incident involving a man in his 40s at Glastonbury Festival.

‘The incident happened on a footpath known as the old railway line.

‘Sadly, the man died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.’

They added: ‘The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious and officers are carrying out enquiries on behalf of the coroner.’

Tributes have now been paid to Wilder, with his friend pal Tim Newton – who worked with Wilder on a Thai radio show –  telling the Sun: ‘Such a natural-born engager and entertainer – solo behind the mic, or in the company of close friends and family, or in front of thousands.

‘He was certainly the best expat radio talent that ever graced a microphone in Thailand.’

The paper adds that Wilder was in his tent when he suffered a ‘medical episode’.

Deaths are uncommon at the world-famous festival, which draws in around 200,000 revelers a year.

In 2016, a man died after catching on fire.

He was airlifted to hospital where he later died of his injuries.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police confirmed to Metro.co.uk at the time: ‘We were called by the fire service after reports of a man on fire at the Glastonbury Festival site at about 5.20pm last night.

‘The man suffered serious burns and was taken by air ambulance to Southmead Hospital in Bristol. He was transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, where he sadly later died.’

He added: ‘The man’s family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time.

‘Our enquiries are continuing but we are treating the death as unexplained and do not believe it to be suspicious.’
