Arsenal legend Ian Wright ‘hopes’ Tottenham star Eric Dier is heading to Bayern Munich despite Ange Postecoglou’s comments after beating Burnley.
It was reported that Dier’s omission from Spurs’ 1-0 FA Cup win against Burnley on Friday was due to the fact he had agreed terms with the German giants.
But speaking after his side booked their spot in the fourth round, Postecoglou insisted the only reason Dier was not in the squad was because of injury.
Quizzed about Dier’s absence, Postecoglou told ITV: ‘Eric Dier is injured. He was injured in training yesterday.’
Asked if he knew anything about the Bayern rumours, he added: ‘Absolutely zero. Eric did not train yesterday because he is injured.’
Wright, sharing his thoughts on Postecoglou’s post-match remarks, said: ‘Of course it is [a huge move for Dier] at this stage of his career.
‘He’s struggling to get into the Tottenham side. To be linked with Bayern Munich, of course.

‘If it’s rumours, you hope for his sake it is true, because he is not getting a sniff at the moment.’
In his post-match press conference, Postecoglou once again sparked rumours over Dier’s exit, admitting that he could afford to lose him in January despite injury to Ben Davies.
Should Dier head to Bayern in January, he would link up with former teammate Harry Kane, who has been on fire since his summer switch to the Bundesliga.
