Ian Wright was left disappointed at Gabriel Jesus after he failed to score again as Arsenal beat Nottingham Forest 5-0 on Sunday.
Jesus joined Arsenal from Manchester City this summer in a £45m deal and has now failed to register a goal in his last four Premier League games.
The 25-year-old Brazil international striker did, however, provide two assists, setting up Reiss Nelson’s second goal with the other for Martin Odegaard.
Nelson bagged two in the impressive 5-0 victory at the Emirates with Thomas Partey also getting on the scoresheet for the league leaders.
Jesus was inches away from making it 6-0 in the 85th minute after Ben White had flicked on from Fabio Vieira’s corner but he could not touch in at the far post.
Legendary Gunners striker Wight labelled Jesus as ‘clunky’ after the match and admitted that he should be scoring more goals.
‘Arsenal need goals,’ Wright said. ‘They need goals from wherever they can get them from.
‘Unfortunately for Forest, we gave them a bit of a beating today, but that’s what we need.
‘We need people getting in the box, taking opportunities to shoot and score. We’ve got five goals today and our centre-forward [Gabriel Jesus] hasn’t scored.
‘Everybody is talking about it. You’re hoping it’s just something… He’s got a couple assists, but we want our centre-forward scoring as well.
‘Jesus had a very good chance [in the game]. He’s got to hit the target there. He’s just in that form at the moment. He looks a little bit clunky.
‘He seems to be attracted to the ball. There’s no reason for him to do that. I’d rather he stayed up there [leading the line].
‘We’ve got enough players to do that. He can make runs. That’s where you want him.’
Arsenal host FC Zurich in the Europa League on Thursday before they return to top-flight action with a trip to face top-four rivals Chelsea on Sunday.
