Nadia El-Nakla has revealed her family were ‘hit by a drone’
A family member of Scotland’s first minister was wounded in southern Gaza while sheltering from Israeli strikes, it was reported.
Humza Yousaf’s wife Nadia El-Nakla revealed that her family were ‘hit by a drone’ in the besieged territory.
Two minutes before appearing on air on LBC London, she received the phone call she had been dreading since the war between Israel and Hamas militants began last week.
Her mum Elizabeth said her aunt, uncle and their three children were struck by a drone while sitting outside their house.

‘Thankfully, the drone hit off a metal fire extinguisher and now my two-year-old cousin is covered in shrapnel,’ Ms El-Nakla said.
‘This is affecting everyone in Gaza.
‘My mum is crying, but they are okay and they are removing the shrapnel. It got stuck deep in the skin but my mum is a former nurse.
‘There is absolutely no way to get that kind of treatment. You can’t go to hospital for that kind of treatment right now.’
