Art the Clown is back to wreak more havoc (Picture: Terrifier 2)
Terrifier 2, a new clown horror movie, is so gory and fright-inducing that people have needed medical attention after watching it, according to reports.
The American slasher movie, which was released in the US last week, sees Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) return to terrorise a teenager and her younger brother on Halloween night.
The film, which is a sequel to 2016’s Terrifier directed by Damien Leone, sees Art return from the dead to wreak more havoc – but the graphic, gory scenes were too much for some.
Fans have taken to Twitter to share their response to seeing the film in cinemas – with some even claiming their friends passed out and required medical attention.
One cinemagoer shared a photo of their pal being tended to by medics as they wrote: ‘#Terrifier2 my friend passed out and the theater called an ambulance. Highly recommended
Another added: ‘a film festival is giving VOMIT BAGS for people going to watch Terrifier 2. you’ve got my attention. you’ve got all of my attention. completely. tell me more.’
One commented: ‘TERRIFIER 2: The first movie in my lifetime where I’ve read reports of people fainting and vomiting in the theater, and then after finally seeing it myself thinking, “yeah, I get that.”’
Others confirmed: ‘Just saw Terrifier 2. It was an amazing gory mess. The guy behind me passed out cold n crashed into my chair, another guy left because he didn’t feel good, I overheard him say and walking out theatre door I heard a guy puking hard & loud in the bathroom. #Terrifier2.’
Steve Barton, the film’s producer, shared a warning to fans planning to head to the cinema to see it, writing: ‘This movie contains scenes of graphic violence and brutal depictions of horror. Viewers who are faint of heart, prone to light headedness or have weak stomachs are advised to take extreme caution.
‘There have already been numerous instances of fainting and vomiting in theatres. For those choosing to continue, you’ve been warned.’
Terrifier 2 will be released in the UK on DVD and Blu-ray from Monday, October 24.
