Chevy Chase fell off the stage at Shea’s Performing Arts Center in Buffalo, NY, on Wednesday.

The 80-year-old Hollywood star was pushed onto stage in a wheelchair.

Shortly after getting out of his wheelchair, Chevy strolled towards the corner of the stage before falling off.

The incident occurred days after the star insisted he was in ‘amazing health’.

Chevy was on stage to participate in the National Lampoon Christmas Vacation Q&A.

In footage circulating on social media, the world-famous comedian enticed gasps from the crowd after falling.

He was promptly helped up and didn’t appear shaken, even tipping his cap to those in attendance, according to MailOnline.

The outlet adds that Chevy’s fall came shortly after his manager insisted he was in ‘amazing’ health despite the actor sparking concern after being seen in a wheelchair over the weekend.

His reps said in a statement: ‘His health is amazing and his tour, A Live Conversation With Chevy Chase, has been selling out across the country.

‘He sometimes uses the chair due to all the airport travel – even at 80 years young.’

They added: ‘He does not need rest. His tour is extensive during the holiday season.’

Two years ago, the star was hospitalised with near-fatal heart failure.

Speaking to CBS about his health scare last year, he quipped: ‘Oh, we removed it. Didn’t need it. It’s much better now.’

Aside from playing Clark Griswold in the National Lampoon movies, Chevy, who was born Cornelius, is best known for his stint on Saturday Night Live in the 70s.

He’s also starred in classic comedies including 1980’s Caddyshack and 1986’s ¡Three Amigos!.

Chevy has also hosted the Oscars on two occasions and even had his own late-night talk show, The Chevy Chase Show.

More recently, he played Pierce Hawthorne on comedy series Community.

Metro.co.uk has reached out to Chevy’s reps for comment.
