Eric’s fate has been revealed (Picture: Lime Pictures)
Hollyoaks revealed Eric Foster’s (Angus Castle-Doughty) fate, with the incel having surprised just about everyone by entering a guilty plea at his hearing.
The scenes aired off-screen, as Maxine Miniver (Nikki Sanderson) and Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher), who were both victims of Eric’s reign of terror, gathered together on the day of his hearing.
Diane proceeded to get drunk over the notable absence of Tony (Nick Pickard), who has been isolating himself from his loved ones, believing he is to blame for what transpired with Eric.
Maxine received a phone call revealing news from the court, with Scott Drinkwell (Ross Adams) subsequently relaying this information to Tony in the park, confirming that Eric pleaded guilty and thus the nightmare is now at an end.
Eric, as viewers know, terrorised a number of the village’s women over a year-long period, all the while brainwashing Mason Chen-Williams (Frank Kauer) with his twisted viewpoints of the world.
The radical misogynist’s reign of terror, however, came to an end amid a siege in The Dog two months ago, with Maxine largely responsible for taking him down.
‘I don’t think the audience should ever know what he’s capable of,’ actor Angus Castle-Doughty told Metro.co.uk earlier this year of the dramatic siege, which saw Eric wield a crossbow.’

‘I think he’s lost and at this point [of the siege] has been completely lost and detached from society and I don’t think really when it comes to face-to-face interactions, when push comes to shove… I mean, it surprised me.’
‘I don’t think he’s profoundly capable of actually doing the things that he believes he can.

‘So, he’s got all the planning in the world but, as people will see, the moment he’s forced to confront these things, or his guard drops, or his emotions get the better of him, it’s an exercise in trying to shut all those down immediately.’
