It’s not often that Hollyoaks legend Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) is rendered speechless, but that’s exactly what happened when newcomer Beau Ramsey (Jon-Paul Bell) revealed that he is his son!
Tony, as viewers know, is on a mission to clean up his reputation as a councillor after the carnival – which he organised – ended in disaster.
His attention, however, was elsewhere during Friday’s (October 21) first look edition of the Channel 4 soap, after he received a mysterious bunch of flowers.
Diane (Alex Fletcher) was convinced that her beloved husband was cheating on her, especially after she found out that Tony had lied about who the flowers were from.
This, coupled with his secret text message conversation with an unknown person, led her to believe that he was having an affair, and she confided her suspicions in Dave Chen-Williams (Dominic Power), adamant that she would get to the bottom of this.
Tony, meanwhile, set out to get answers for himself, as he met his mysterious flower-sender in the folly.
It was Beau!
The newcomer introduced himself, revealing his name, allowing Tony to realise that it was the same beau who kissed Liberty Savage (Jessamy Stoddart), but the biggest shock came moments later, when Beau dropped a major bombshell.
He’s Tony’s son!

Tony, according to Beau, had a holiday romance with his mum 25 years ago, meaning that the dates add up, given that he’s also 25.
Tony was stunned. The question is: just how will he react to the news that he’s got another son?
