Hollyoaks is set to fire on all cylinders as the show’s new boss Hannah Cheers makes sweeping changes to existing storylines, while axing some entirely and forming her own.

The campaign comes after three producers, including the show’s top chief Lucy Allan, were dropped from the show.

Hollyoaks is embarking on a new era in the wake of the big move to a predominantly online strategy and it is hoped that exciting new storyline twists will enhance this.

Hannah, who previously worked on the show for many years before a stint in Emmerdale, has spent time dropping storylines which were planned to run further.

Others are going to veer away from the original plot quite significantly, with big twists on the agenda.

While it is not confirmed which strands have been targeted, viewers are certainly taking about the show in a positive light.

The recent news that Claire Cooper is reprising her role as Jacqui McQueen for a special episode alongside Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) has resulted in widespread thrills, with some viewers taking to social media to pledge they will start watching again after a hiatus.

Not only that, but acclaimed TV and film star Emma Rigby, who made her big break in Hollyoaks, is also making a short term comeback as Hannah Ashworth.

Early next year, the soap is planning an explosive stunt, and spectacles are always particularly explosive on the show – who knows which characters might not make it…

A winter trailer also confirmed the shocking secret of Rafe Dilly as they plot to bring down Sienna – the brother and sister are not siblings at all, but a married couple!

Meanwhile, the mystery over Rayne’s murder is not far from being resolved, while the casting of Rita Simons is a real coup, with viewers eagerly awaiting further news on her arrival.

It’s fair to say that the new team at the top are keen to make their mark, and changes could air on screen at any time considering the swiftness of the new tenure.

It seems to be an exciting time to be a Hollyoaks fan, and the right time to jump back in if you had taken a break from it – or even if you’ve never dabbled at all.
