Harvey Elliott injury: Liverpool star ‘overwhelmed by love and support’ from fans after dislocating ankle
The i says Harvey Elliott has thanked fans for their “overwhelming love and support” after suffering a dislocated ankle during Liverpool‘s 3-0 win against Leeds at Elland Road on Saturday.
The 18-year-old, who was starting his third successive Premier League game for the club, suffered the horrific injury following a challenge from Leeds defender Pascal Struijk who was sent off by referee Craig Pawson.
The severity of the incident was immediately made apparent when Mo Salah, the closest player to him, signalled frantically to the bench for medical attention before turning away in anguish. An emotional Jurgen Klopp said afterwards that Elliott’s “foot was not in the right place”.
