Harry Potter star Jessie Cave’s kids are ’embarrassed’ by their mother’s part in the franchise.

The 36 year old’s children are hooked on the magical world of Hogwarts over 20 years after Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone’s release in 2001.

The actor and best-selling novelist has four children with husband Alfie Brown: son Donnie, seven, daughter Margot, four, Tennessee, two, and little baby Becker, who they welcomed in March last year.

Jessie starred in the sixth film in the franchise – Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince – as Lavender Brown.

But while her performance was spot on, Jessie’s children are not so impressed with their mum’s appearance in the film. Ouch.

Chatting about her kids demolishing the films in lockdown, Jessie admitted: ‘I asked them, “What’s your favourite bit about Harry Potter?” hoping they would say, “You, Mummy” – but they find me quite embarrassing in it!

‘They can’t get over the fact that I kiss Ron,’ she revealed chatting to Closer, before admitting she’s appreciating the films much more seeing them through her childrens’ eyes.

Stealing the show with her brilliant portrayal of desperate Gryffindor Lavender who is totally infatuated by Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint), Jessie first appeared in the sixth film randomly saying hello to him around Hogwarts.

With the students growing up, this film really hones in on romance as the witches and wizards begin to catch feelings for their peers.

Much to Hermione Granger’s disappointment – played by Emma Watson, of course – after an unusually impressive Quidditch performance, Ron winds up locking lips with Lavender in the Gryffindor common room afterparty.

The rest was history as Ron suddenly found himself embroiled in an intense relationship in which Lavender calls him her ‘Won-Won’ and is totally obsessed.

Much of the film sees Hermione livid with her friend Ron, who she clearly fancies, but luckily for her the whole relationship crumbles when Ron almost dies from accidentally drinking poison.

While in hospital a boggled Ron whispers Hermione’s name instead of Lavender’s. Unfortunately for unconscious Ron, the latter heard.

But it turned out to be a stroke of luck for Ron, who didn’t remember a thing – but was glad to be shot of her.

Ron was never told the truth of why their relationship ended by his friends, and Lavander seemed pretty vexed by the messy break up.

His romantic relationship with Hermione stalled, not blossoming until the last film during the life-and-death moment of the Battle of Hogwarts.

In this same battle between the wizarding world and Voldemort – spoiler alert – Lavender meets her end, and Hermione looks distraught to see her being feasted on by nasty werewolf Fenrir Greyback.

Jessie also said she pretended to little Margot who got upset at this point that Lavender doesn’t actually die in this scene but was having a ‘little sleep’.

    Poor old Lavender.
