‘Definitely not’ – Harry Kane reacts to red card claims over tackle on Liverpool defender Andy Robertson
The Metro says Tottenham striker Harry Kane believes that the officials were right not to send him off for a tackle on Liverpool defender Andy Robertson.
The incident took place during the first half of the 2-2 draw between the two sides on Sunday, when Kane lunged into the ball before catching Robertson’s ankle with his studs, with referee Paul Tierney awarding a yellow card.
VAR looked at the tackle, but it was deemed that Tierney had not made a ‘clear and obvious error’ and his decision was upheld.
Sky Sports pundits Jamie Carragher and Jamie Redknapp believed that Kane was lucky to avoid a red card.
