Prince Harry and Meghan have shared a sweet picture of their daughter Lilibet after celebrating her first birthday in Windsor.
Little Lili is seen smiling at a birthday picnic at the family’s Frogmore Cottage home in Windsor – where Harry and Meghan, along with Lili and older brother Archie had returned for a few days to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
It was Lili’s first visit to the UK, and the first time Archie has been back since Harry and Meghan stepped down from the royal family and left for the US – via a brief stop in Canada.
Harry and Meghan made their first public appearance together in Britain since 2020 when they attended a service of thanksgiving for the Queen at St Paul’s Cathedral. They were greeted warmly by the crowd gathered outside the Cathedral.
They were also pictured watching Trooping the Colour from a window – but were not part of the event due to no longer being working royals.
It is believed the Queen met her great-granddaughter for the first time during this trip.
Lilibet was born in the US and it is now where Harry and Meghan and Archie call home.
The photo released is of Lili celebrating her first birthday. She is pictured in a pale blue dress with a white bow in her hair. The picture was taken by family friend Misan Harriman at a picnic attended by family and close friends, a spokesperson for the couple said.
Professional photographer Mr Harriman later shared a black and white snap on Twitter of Meghan holding Lilibet alongside the words: “It was such a privilege to celebrate the 1st birthday of Lilibet with my family and hers! Joy and face painting all around.”
Mr Harriman previously took black-and-white photographs of Meghan and Harry when they announced she was pregnant with their second child.
A spokesperson for the couple said donations of more than $100,000 had been made in Lili’s honour by people around the world to World Central Kitchen – an organisation providing meals for those affected by humanitarian, climate and community crises.
Lilibet is the Queen’s 11th great-grandchild and is eighth in line to the throne.
She is Prince Charles’ 5th grandchild.
She is Prince Harry and Meghan’s second child and sister to Archie who was born in May 2019.
Lilibet is the niece of Prince William. Lili and Archie are cousins to William and Kate’s children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Lilibet Diana was named after the Queen (whose nickname is Lilibet) and Prince William and Prince Harry’s mum, the late Princess Diana.
Lilibet was born in California, whilst older brother Archie was born in London. Both children live in an area called Montecito. But what’s it like there?
Montecito is in California – about 80 miles west of Los Angeles, between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Ynez mountains in California’s Santa Barbara County.
The hillside mansions are secluded and naturally a hidden gem for Hollywood stars, the super-rich and now even royalty. Montecito is for anyone who can afford it and want to have some privacy.
Montecito is a chic but under the radar area with a mellow vibe. It’s filled with perfect beaches, a Mediterranean climate and a beautiful natural setting that’s not too different from the South of France.
On Saturday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten Windsor, turned one – and the family has released a new portrait to celebrate.
