Graham Potter should bring John Terry into his coaching staff in the Chelsea first team, reckons Paul Merson, with the Blues in desperate need to turn their form around.
Potter is under serious pressure after a dreadful run of results, with reports suggesting that he must avoid defeats in his next two games to avoid the sack.
Merson reckons Terry could be of help to the beleaguered boss, with the former Chelsea captain able to bring both experience and an aggression that appears to be lacking at the moment.
The former England defender is already back at the club, working as a coaching consultant in the academy so could easily be brought into first team duties, which the Arsenal legend reckons would be a great move.
‘For me, I’d get John Terry involved now,’ Merson told Sky Sports. ‘John Terry’s at the club, get him on the bench, get in there, get someone who’s been there before, played the game and done it.
‘And start volleying people around! He’s too nice. It’s too nice.’

After three straight defeats, without scoring a goal in any of those games, Merson had a scathing review of their current state, saying: ‘The worst I’ve seen in 25 years, I do worry.’
Chelsea host Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon and Potter must get a result to alleviate some of the pressure on him before a huge Champions League game next week.
The Blues host Borussia Dortmund after losing 1-0 in the first leg of the last 16 tie in Germany, with Europe the only remaining chance of a trophy this season for Potter’s team.
