The August bank holiday is upon us which, for many, means a day off work spent catching up on sleep, seeing friends and loved ones, or even getting on top of those DIY and gardening projects.
People across the country are hoping for a last blast of good weather as summer gradually draws to a close, with others planning to get the barbecue out while they have the chance.
For some, that means a trip to B&Q, Wickes or Argos for essential homewares and gardening kit.
But are any of these three handy stores actually open on over the bank holiday?

B&Q is usually open from 7am to 8pm Monday to Saturday (with some opening hours varying by location) and that doesn’t look to change over the bank holiday.
You can expect 10am to 4pm Sunday hours for some stores.
To ensure you’ve got the correct hours for your nearest shop, check the B&Q store locator.
