If you frequently brag about your impressive Uber rating, you might just find yourself on the company’s ‘nice list’ this year.
It seems individuals in Merseyside, Cambridge, East Anglia and Stoke have some of the highest ratings across the nation. While people in Birmingham and London may need to work on theirs as a New Year’s resolution.
And there are real perks to having an exceptional rating this Christmas.
In what it claims to be an ‘early Christmas present’ for customers, Uber will be rewarding hundreds of customers with top rider ratings with £50 Uber credit towards their train journey home for the festive period.
This credit will go to the top 400 rated riders in the UK, who have taken more than 10 trips in 2023.
The company will automatically add credit for train bookings to the accounts of these riders in December.
But all is not lost if you’re not one of the lucky 400. Uber is also sending out helpers to UK train stations in December, who will exchange Uber Credit for a train home to anyone who can show their rider rating is above the national average of 4.83.
And with upcoming strikes and general rail price increases, it’s likely this gift from Uber will go a long way this Christmas.
Want to improve your Uber rating?
Both riders and drivers are able to rate one to five stars on a trip. Ratings are the average of the last 500 trips. To help improve your rating, Uber drivers have shared some of the top reasons they hand out fewer stars:
Rude or aggressive passengers. Unsurprisingly, these are the least appreciated by drivers and a quick way to bring your rating down.
Eating in the car. It’s best not to let that breakfast croissant or evening kebab end up all over the seat.
Asking to smoke with the window open or playing music loudly on your phone. It’s never a good idea to treat the car as an after-party.
Slamming the door – a classic! Always best to take care of the driver’s vehicle and treat it with respect.
Refusing to put on your seatbelt. It may seem obvious to buckle up for safety but surprisingly this one still happens.
