Thousands across the UK are being hit with massive flooding problems as Storm Henk continues it’s deluge, including the rich and famous.

Much of the country is under amber alerts while the eighth storm of the season continues, with Londoners told to avoid travelling where possible.

Hollywood heavy hitter George Clooney, is no exception as his fabulous manor home on the banks of the River Thames has been hit with flooding.

While the Grade-II listed building is not thought to have water damage inside, the gardens and surrounding area have been reduced to giant ponds.

For George and Amal Clooney, who also have a Lake Como home, their idyllic mansion has narrowly avoided the reach of the water, with the perfectly manicured gardens completely underwater.

This is not the first time the mansion belonging to the Ocean’s Eight star and his wife has been caught out in the extreme British weather.

Ever since purchasing the property in 2016, the couple has faced flooding with their extensive garden, tennis courts, and veranda often facing the wrath of storms.

Last year in November, floodwaters began to creep up the Sonning estate, luckily stopping short of the buildings which the couple renovated.

Since moving in, they have redone the barns and added fancy features like pools and tennis courts, doubling the house price from £6million to £12million.

In January, the courts succumbed to flooding along with the summer house’s veranda, a repeat from Storm Dennis in February 2020 which left everything underwater.

Storm Christopher in January 2021 also saw the veranda end up coated in Thames river water as the banks burst once again.

Unfortunately for the couple it’s not just the start of the year that sees flooding as in April 2018, Easter weekend was hit with three inches of rainfall.

The Clooneys aren’t the only famous faces having some issues with the rain as the Beckhams’ home saw gale force wind take down one of their trees.

‘Could have been worse – still gutted,’ David wrote on his Instagram, showing a tall tree lying on the ground.

David and Victoria have a home in the Cotswolds, often frequented by themselves and their children when not residing in the US.

Metro.co.uk has reached out to the Clooneys’ reps for comment.
