Gaza latest – More than 26600 Palestinians killed, funding to Gaza aid agency paused
More than 26,637 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes on Gaza since 7 October, the Hamas-run health ministry has said.
A further 65,387 have been injured, it added.
The ministry says 215 Palestinians have been killed in the past 24 hours and 300 injured.
The latest figures come as Japan and Austria joined a growing list of countries to pause funding to a UN agency providing essential aid into Gaza.
The pause has come amid claims some staff at the UNRWA were involved in the October 7 attacks.
The Gaza aid agency says it is ‘extremely desperate’ following the pause in funding and many have condemned the countries that have chosen to pause funding as most within Gaza are relying on aid.
Japan, the 6th largest donor to the UNRWA, and Finland now join Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, the US and the UK in pausing funding.
