When Gaia Pope went missing aged 19, her cousin Marienna ­Pope-Weidemann rang the police search team over and over.

The youngster had been in a fragile mental state since the age of 16, when she had reported being drugged and raped, only for officers to decide not to pass her claims to the Crown Prosecution Service.
