Epic Games has started teasing The Big Bang event to end Fortnite Chapter 4, as well as the long-awaited Lego tie-in and a new racing mode.
Chapter 4 of Fortnite is set to end on Saturday, December 2 at 7pm GMT. That much is official, but at the moment Epic Games isn’t saying anything else. There are long-standing rumours of a Lego collaboration and two new game modes, but it seems there’s yet another secret being prepared.
Fortnite leaks are almost always accurate because they’re based on datamined information from the game itself, but in addition to that the official artwork for The Big Bang seems to include visual clues that match up exactly with the existing rumours.
These include a microphone and guitar, to represent a new rhythm action game mode by the makers of Guitar Hero, a tyre that’s thought to be a nod to a new racing mode, and what appears to be a llama made out of Lego.
A Lego collaboration was announced some time ago, except nobody ever said what exactly it was. The rumour now is that it’s a creative mode that works something like Minecraft, which will be permanent and not just for the duration of the next season.
Lego themselves has been teasing their involvement, with a close up of a brick-built llama that is almost certainly going to be sold as an actual product. Whether they’ll have a whole line of Fortnite sets is unknown, but it seems hard to imagine they won’t at least do a Battle Bus.

As with the rhythm action game, nothing substantial is known about the racing mode except that it’s apparently a collaboration with Rocket League maker Psyonix, which is a bit odd because Rocket League doesn’t actually feature any traditional racing.
The final revelation, which hasn’t been hinted about until now, is that Eminem is due to be part of The Big Bang and will have a virtual concert to play out the end of the season and chapter.
Not only have dataminers uncovered artwork from within the game’s files but at least two character skins, which you’ll probably have to pay for.

The end of Chapter 4 will also mean the end of Season OG, the retro-themed spectacle that has, after years of decline, suddenly seen Fortnite breaking player records.
What’s going to happen once people get off the nostalgia trip remains to be seen, but it wouldn’t be surprising if Chapter 5 tried to continue the theme to at least some degree.
To get ready for The Big Bang, Fortnite will be taken offline at 5pm GMT on December 2; the Fortnite Blog has further information, including how to watch the event itself.
