    First WSL sticker album launches

The FA has partnered with Italian sticker company Panini for a Women’s Super League (WSL) sticker album.

The company has been making stickers of players in the top men’s divisions for over 50 years.

But there has been a rise in interest in women’s football in England since the Lionesses won the Euros and made it to the final of the 2023 World Cup.

The new album will hold nearly 350 stickers.

Fans and players gathered at Manchester’s National Football Museum on Wednesday evening for the official launch of the album.

Last season attendance at WSL games rose by 170% and the WSL keeps breaking records.

Arsenal recently broke their record by selling over 59,000 tickets for their match at the Emirates.

Attendance at regular home games (not being staged in the men’s stadiums) has also seen an increase.

The WSL started in 2011 and is one of the most popular women’s leagues globally. At the summer 2023 World Cup, the league had almost 100 players representing their nations – the most of any league in the world.

Panini have been publishing sticker albums since 1970, they first created a women’s collection book for the 2011 World Cup.

Last year they launched their first women’s domestic football collection for Spain’s Liga F as well as a collection for the summer World Cup.

The WSL sticker book will feature players and icons of the league and include 12 shiny foil stickers from all 12 teams.
