The Princess of Wales “thanked well-wishers” as the first official photo of her was released since her abdominal surgery, the Daily Mirror reports. “Thank you” is the headline which also has a file image of a beaming Prince William – who took the photo of their three children and his wife.

Like many of the first editions, newspapers went to print before the scandal broke out over the image. Four international agencies have issued a ‘Kill Notice’ – which tells newspapers not to use the photo – over fears of manipulation. 

Elsewhere on the tabloid, Brianna Ghey’s mum Esther gives an emotional interview to the paper as she discusses meeting with her daughter’s killer’s family. She said meeting Scarlett Jenkinson’s mother and uncle was “important to understand how they were as a family”.
