Facebook is down in fact all of Facebook Inc’s social media platforms including WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Instagram were down for thousands of users on Thursday, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com.

Reports by users showed more than 112,000 issues on Facebook’s website, while 101,000 Instagram users reported problems as of 6 pm ET.
Downdetector tracks outages by collecting status reports from a series of sources, including user-submitted errors on its platform. The outages might be affecting a larger number of users or Facebook server errors in the United States.
Instagram down – Whatsapp down
In 2019 Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that although apps like Instagram and WhatsApp would continue to operate as stand-alone apps, their underlying technical infrastructure will be unified.
Today the Facebook Inc, among all the apps, have more than 2.6 billion users, allowing people to seamlessly communicate across the platforms for the first time.
Facebook did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
