Extinction Rebellion protesters spark Black Friday chaos: 15 Amazon sites blocked in UK
The Daily Express says EXTINCTION Rebellion activists are staging protests at Amazon warehouses across the country on Black Friday.
The eco group said it is targeting 15 Amazon sites including Manchester, Newcastle, Bristol, Milton Keynes and Dartford. The protests kicked off earlier this morning for Black Friday – one of the biggest shopping days of the year.
Activists carrying banners have blocked roads outside Amazon centres across the UK.
An Extinction Rebellion spokesperson said: “The action is intended to draw attention to Amazon’s exploitative and environmentally destructive business practices, disregard for workers’ rights in the name of company profits, as well as the wastefulness of Black Friday.
