Brexit LIVE: EU mocked over bid to ‘bring Britain back into the fold’ with new offer
The Daily Express: THE European Union has been mocked over a proposal to involve the UK in a new security organisation and attempting to “bring Britain back into the fold”.
European leaders from Germany, the Netherlands and Poland are proposing a “European Security Council” to forge new ties. Speaking about bringing Britain in on the plans, a senior European diplomat told the Telegraph: “Continental leaders need to say we’re sitting down, and it would be great if you sat down with us.” But not everyone is a fan of the deal as Mujtaba Rahman, a former Government adviser and managing director of the Eurasia Group, shared the news on Twitter adding a laughing emoji. French President Emmanuel Macron is also said to be opposed to the deal as he has a “chip on his shoulder” over Brexit and the Aukus deal.
