EU could ban imports of coffee and beef linked to deforestation
The Independent says The European Commission has proposed a law to prevent the import of commodities linked to deforestation, such as coffee, cocoa, soy, and beef.
The bloc would require companies to prove their global supply chains are not contributing to the destruction of forests.
Failure to comply could result in fines of up to 4 per cent of a company’s turnover in an EU country.
