Emmerdale star Ash Palmisciano announced he will be co-hosting Pride Hull this year as well as participating in a meet and greet for fans at the event.

The 33-year-old star has significantly impacted the entertainment industry through his groundbreaking portrayal of Matty Barton – the first transgender character in ITV’s renowned soap.

Thorugh his participation in the much-loved show, the actor aimed to raise awareness and heighten understanding of transgender experiences.

The city’s annual celebration of diversity and acceptance will see the actor, speaker and presenter make an appearance on July 29 later this summer.

Beyond his acting career, Ash has made a name for himself as a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion.

He is also a patron of Diversity Role Models and actively supports their mission of promoting positive LGBTQ+ role models in schools and communities.
