Teenager Heath Hope (Sebastian Dowling) has died after being involved in a car crash with sister Cathy (Gabrielle Dowling) and friend Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes) in Emmerdale.
In Friday’s (December 29) episode of the ITV soap, we saw Heath and Angel climb into Wendy Posner’s (Susan Cookson) car with Cathy in the drivers seat.
The group of friends decided to joyride with the intention of getting to Hotten for a New Year party – but it ended catastrophically when they crashed into a wall.
When Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) and Wendy arrived, they found a bloodied Angelica and Cathy out of the car, but Heath was trapped inside.

Heath was pulled out of the vehicle but as Wendy desperately attempted CPR, realisation hit that the lad wasn’t going to survive.
At the hospital, as Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) and Jimmy King (Nick Miles) rushed to see Angelica, Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop) found Bob and wondered where Heath was.

A traumatised and broken Bob then revealed to Brenda that Heath had died.
As word started to get round in the village, a police officer arrived to speak with the adults at the hospital. She explained that while an investigation is going on, Cathy and Angelica need to be kept apart to prevent their stories from getting muddled.
Nicola and Jimmy headed off to see their daughter which left Wendy, Bob, Brenda and Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell).

Just as Brenda entered the room to see Cathy, Wendy encouraged Bob to do the same.
While Bob knew that was the right thing to do, all he could focus on was Cathy’s involvement in the crash and how if she never got behind the wheel, the end of 2023 and the start of the 2024 could’ve been very different for the family.
