Former Emmerdale star Ben Freeman has stepped into the land of Hollywood for his new TV role.
The actor played Scott Windsor in the ITV soap, who is the brother of Cathy (Gabrielle Dowling) and Heath (Sebastian Dowling).
He hasn’t been seen in the Dales since 2007, but has been mentioned recently by Bob (Tony Audenshaw).
After Cathy started to struggle with her mental health during her periods, she chose to leave the village and spend time with Scott in the Lake District.
While the mention of the former character has left many wondering if he may return, it would appear the short answer is no, not yet, as Ben Freeman has been busy filming the new series of Outlander.
Outlander follows Claire Randall, a nurse from World War II who goes back in time and finds herself in Scotland, 1743.

Ben will portray Corporal Woodbine, with a source telling The Sun that: ‘It’s a great role and fans will be delighted to see him in the show. Ben’s done a lot of stage work recently and his fans will love seeing him back on screens.’

The actor portrayed Scott from 1996-2007. Son of Reg and Viv, Scott left the village to stay with a friend in London selling stolen cars, leaving the garage in Debbie’s (Charley Webb) hands.
The following year, he called Viv and revealed that he wouldn’t be returning.
Marlon (Mark Charnock) debated a visit to London in 2015 so Scott could see April (Amelia Flanagan) ahead of his wedding, but he then changed his mind.
