Now that Craig’s (Ben Addis) death has been determined an accident, the Tate household can breathe a sigh of relief and look to the future in Emmerdale.
It’s not long now until the deafening squark of a newborn blesses the Home Farm hallways, and Dawn (Olivia Bromley) is on a mission to get prepared.
But their noses are put out of joint when Kim reminds them it’s her house and the nursery will be done her way.
But the couple are on too much of a high to be brought down by Kim’s (Claire King) meddling. In fact, Dawn has a huge request of her stepmother – she asks that Kim be her birthing partner.

Not everyone’s first choice, given that Kim is about as maternal as a sack of potatoes, but Dawn clearly has faith in Kim. And let’s face it, if you need someone to advocate for you during labour, who better than no-nonsense-Kim?

With that decision sorted, it’s another element of Dawn’s birthing plan that has Billy’s anxiety piqued – he has a nagging feeling about her plan to have a home birth. Is this a bit of foreshadowing telling us there’s drama ahead for Dawn and her baby?
It’s not long before another drama hits, as Rhona (Zoe Henry) later witnesses Dawn experiencing pregnancy pains and rushes to fetch Dr Liam. Is she in early labour?
