Everyone thought Samson was staying at a friend’s house (Picture: ITV)
With the week of episodes celebrating Emmerdale’s 50th anniversary now over, we’re still left with one answered question – is Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) dead?
The character wasn’t really around at the start of the week, as we learn tonight Lydia (Karen Blick) thought Samson was at a friend’s house.
However, last night, when Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) attempted to ring Samson, we saw his phone in the middle of the woods.
As it became apparent he had most certainly not stayed at his friend’s house, Lydia called the police, and a search party was organised.
With Mandy (Lisa Riley) and Paddy (Dominic Brunt) searching the woods, Nate (Jurell Carter), Belle and Lydia also joined them, spreading out to cover more ground.
When Samson’s phone was found, Lydia was understandably fearing the worst, but Belle attempted to reassure her by saying that they must be on the right track and should keep walking.
After a brief moment of terror that Samson had fallen into the same lake Jamie (Alexander Lincoln) crashed his car in, the characters set off – unaware Samson was right under their noses.
As the camera panned down, we saw Samson under a small bridge.
