Emmanuel Petit names three reasons why Arsenal will clinch Premier League title
Emmanuel Petit has named three reasons why he thinks his former club Arsenal will land the 2024-25 Premier League title this season.
The Gunners, currently locked in a title race with Liverpool and Nottingham Forest, are desperate to get their hands on the top-flight trophy under Mikel Arteta having not been crowned champions of England in 21 years.
Arsenal have come agonisingly close across the last two campaigns but narrowly missed out to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on both occasions.
Petit believes the north Londoners will finally end their long wait this time around, though, and has given three reasons why he thinks they’ll get the job done.
The first is because Arsenal are now out of the FA Cup, and look in danger of crashing out of the Carabao Cup after their first-leg defeat to Newcastle, meaning they can fully focus on their Premier League title charge.
The second reason is that Arsenal will receive a boost when key players like Bukayo Saka comes back from injury, with a March return date looking most likely at present for the England international winger.
The third is because of Liverpool’s defence, with Petit insisting the Reds are ‘conceding goals all the time’ and are lacking in overall confidence.
Quizzed on Sky Sports if he believed Arsenal could win this season’s Premier League title, Petit said: ‘Yes – and I’ll tell you why.
‘Liverpool and other teams are dealing with so many competitions.

Emmanuel Petit’s three reasons why Arsenal will win this season’s Premier League title…
- Arsenal are less focused on other competitions
- Key players will soon make returns from injury
- Liverpool’s defence is weak and lacking confidence
‘Arsenal, they have so many injuries, but they are going to be back soon. They are top players as well, so they are going to be fresh.
‘They are out, almost, of the two national cups, so they can concentrate on the Champions League and Premier League.
‘Liverpool are not doing that well in the last few weeks. They are conceding goals all the time and they are not confident.
‘Saka is coming back soon and the [January] market is not over yet as well.’
