Emma Raducanu reveals ‘role model’ she wants to win Sports Personality of the Year
The Daily Mirror says Emma Raducanu has revealed she would like her ‘role model’ Lewis Hamilton to be named Sports Personality of the Year for 2021.
Tennis star Raducanu is the strong favourite to take home the lucrative prize after she wrote her name into the history books thanks to a record-breaking victory at the US Open in September.
Raducanu was crowned champion at Flushing Meadows at just 18-years-old, and became the first qualifier in Grand Slam history to take home one of tennis’ four big prizes.
Despite her own remarkable year though, the teenager believes her sporting ‘role model’ Hamilton should be the person to take the prize instead.
