Emma Raducanu: The British teenage underdog shocking the tennis world at Wimbledon
The i says 18-year-old Brit Emma Raducanu has shocked the tennis world and herself by qualifying for the final 16 stage of Wimbledon – while awaiting her A-Level results.
Raducanu, who entered the tournament as a wildcard and is ranked 338th in the world, beat Romania’s world number 45 Sorana Cirstea on Saturday 3 June.
The shock 6-3 7-5 win catapults Raducanu into the last-16 stage – in the first major tournament she has entered.
