Emma Heming Willis has shared a heartfelt post on her husband Bruce Willis’ 68th birthday after his dementia diagnosis.
Last month, it was revealed the Die Hard actor is living with frontotemporal dementia, after first being diagnosed with aphasia in 2022.
Now Bruce’s wife of 14 years is opening up to fans about what life is like in the wake of the devastating news in the hope of raising awareness about the disease.
The 44-year-old held back tears as she detailed her heartbreak at spending her husband’s birthday ‘crying’ just before she posted an emotional montage of happier days.
Emma described how she feels grief on a daily basis, before she admitted to having to put her ‘big girl panties on’ to get through it.

‘So today is my husband’s birthday,’ Emma began in the video message to Bruce’s fans, before tearing up in a heart-wrenching moment towards the end.
‘I have started the morning by crying. As you can see by my swollen eyes and snotty nose, I just think it’s important you see all sides of this.
‘I always get this message or people always tell me like, “Oh you’re so strong, I don’t know how you do it.” I’m not given a choice. I wish I was. But I’m also raising two kids in this.
‘So sometimes in our lives we have to put our big girl panties on and get to it. And that’s what I’m doing. But I do have times of sadness every day. Grief everyday. And I’m really feeling it today on his birthday.
‘So I worked on this reel that I’m posting for my husband’s birthday. I don’t know why I do that to myself because the videos are like a knife in my heart.
‘But as much as I do it for myself I do it for you. Because I know how much you love my husband and – don’t cry Emma – but it means so much to me so thank you.’
Emma did indeed post the most beautiful montage of many family memories, in which Bruce looked to be enjoying life to the full.

Backtracked with Stevie Wonder’s As, the montage documented their years together as the two children grew up in what is a truly tear-jerking minute or so.
Alongside the touching videos, Emma wrote: ‘He is pure love. He is so loved. And I’ll be loving him always. Happy Birthday my sweet 💌’.
‘My birthday wish for Bruce is that you continue to keep him in your prayers and highest vibrations because his sensitive Pisces soul will feel it 🙏🏽 Thank you so much for loving and caring for him too 💞’.
This comes after Emma responded to cruel trolls who accused her of using her husband’s dementia diagnosis for fame.
