Egypt on Tuesday registered 720 new Coronavirus cases, the health ministry said in a statement, its the highest daily toll since detecting the first confirmed case in February.
The new cases brought the total infections to 13,484 cases, the ministry added in a statement.
The ministry also reported 14 deaths due to the novel virus, bringing the total number to 659.
Nearly 3,740 people have recovered and been discharged from isolation hospitals.
The test results of 4275 people turned from positive to negative, the ministry said, including 3742 people who totally recovered. It added that 302 patients left hospitals.
The daily tally of cases has been rising after the government slightly eased a night curfew and other measures.

The government highlights the importance of abiding by precautionary measures while preparing to gradually resume the normal life cycle.

Cinemas, theatres, cafes, fitness halls, and sports clubs should remain closed during the period of coexisting with the coronavirus in light of the first phase of the ministry’s plan to cope with the virus set to start at the beginning of June.
The ministry also recommended keeping the ban on weddings and funerals and suspending universities, schools, kindergartens, and nurseries.
The most populous Arab country will bring forward the start of its curfew by four hours to 5 p.m. and halt public transport from May 24 for six days during the Eid holiday, as it seeks to curb the spread of the new coronavirus, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said on Sunday.
