Ed Sheeran explains bizarre reasoning behind Sam Smith’s six-foot marble penis gift

Ed Sheeran provided some much-needed context as to why he gifted Sam Smith a marble penis.

The Too Good At Goodbye hitmaker recently told a stunned Kelly Clarkson that the Bad Habits musician likes to give ‘people concrete penises.’

Speaking on Kelly’s titular talk show, Sam laughed: ‘It’s actually wild – I thought it was a joke, but it’s a six-foot-two marble penis.

‘It’s two tonnes, and I’m going to have to get it craned into my house!’

Just when you thought you’ve heard it all.

However, during his interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Ed was determined to explain what went down and it seems like this isn’t the first time he’s sent an NSFW present.

‘Elton John has been involved in my career from the get-go, and he buys me weird gifts. Just, like, odd gifts, like sexual sort of objects,’ he said.

‘He [Elton] is very proud of the fact that Eminem bought him and his husband David [Furnish] diamond encrusted c**k rings for their wedding.’

Evidently struggling to continue with the story, Ed added that wanted to one-up Eminem.

Cue in the ‘massive marble penis.’

Addressing how they got their graphic statue, Ed continued: ‘Sam was round my house, he was at a recording studio up the road, and Sam saw one of them and said can I have one?

‘And I said “what would you like?” and Sam said “one the size of me, one that’s six-foot-two.”‘

    That clears things up!

It’s been an emotional time for the Shape Of You singer after him and his wife Cherry Seaborn welcomed their second child in May of this year.

The 31-year-old recently appeared on Good Morning America and was questioned about how the couple adjusted to life with two children.

Questioned over whether he is getting any sleep, he laughed: ‘No. But it’s great. We’re in the trenches.’

Discussing how life on the road has changed, he continued: ‘They’ve been on tour with me.

‘My second daughter was born while we were on tour, but my first daughter comes to the shows, she’s quite aware…

‘I think she assumes everyone else’s dad sings as well, though.’
