Ed Sheeran delighted US fans on Sunday when he dropped by in West Hollywood to perform a free show in support of his new album, Subtract.
The 32-year-old chart-topping singer-songwriter came down to his own pop-up experience and, as may fans had hoped, he gave a little taste of his new music live and from the source.
Ed had teased as much on his Instagram Stories, writing: ‘8483 Melrose Avenue. LA pop up, see you there this morning.’
He then added: ‘I have a different vehicle for more fun. RIP the Volvo.’
Rocking a plain white T-shirt, dark jeans and his trusty guitar, the Shape Of You singer revealed the new vehicle to be a red StarLine City Sightseeing bus.
Climbing aboard, he headed to the top deck to plug in and greet the gathered crowd, thanking them for turning up.

‘I’m going to do some songs and then go and see what’s happening at the pop-up – is everyone enjoying their Sunday?’ he asked the crowd.
The dad of two then treated his audience to songs on the new album, including Subtract, before he went to meet fans for photos and autographs.
It came after he performed a similar stunt in New York City on Saturday – but this time on top of a car (hence the Volvo reference).
Sticking to an acoustic set, and returning to his busking roots, he delighted fans there too with his live performance outside a pop-up store in the Soho area.
The Shivers hitmaker was also celebrating his court victory in the US after being accused of copying Marvin Gaye’s track Let’s Get It On with his song Thinking Out Loud.

Sadly, his appearance in court came at a high price as he was forced to miss his grandmother’s funeral in Ireland after she died aged 98.
Speaking outside court after winning the trial, he said: ‘I’m just a guy with a guitar who loves writing music for people to enjoy. I am not and will never allow myself to be a piggy bank for someone to shake.
‘Having to be in New York for this trial has meant that I’ve missed being with my family at my grandmother’s funeral in Ireland and I will never get that time back.’
His grandmother was the inspiration behind one of his most personal songs, Nancy Mulligan from his 2017’s Divide album, which follows her romance with Sheeran’s grandfather William, and the challenges they faced due to coming from different religious backgrounds.
Ed has also denied rumours he turned down the chance to perform at the King’s Coronation Concert (Picture: Getty)
Ed also made sure to correct rumours recently that he turned down the chance to play at King Charles III’s Coronation Concert on Sunday, revealing he wasn’t actually asked to perform.
‘I want to clear something up actually because there was loads of stuff in the press that I turned down the coronation, and no one ever asked me ever,’ he said on SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up.
‘I assume if they went online and went, “What’s Ed doing on May 6th?” they would’ve been like, “Oh, he’s playing in Dallas.”

‘I think that’s what happened, but obviously, [the] press had the negative story of loads of people turning down the coronation. But I never ever turned it down,’ he stressed.
‘I’m excited to tune [in],’ he assured. ‘It’s historic.’
