EastEnders star Max Bowden has revealed how excited he is at the prospect of combining his ‘two loves’ as part of an upcoming storyline.
The actor, who plays Ben Mitchell, explained how ‘buzzing’ he is over the fact that Walford has a ‘proper boxing gym’ once again, after Sharon Watts decided to go into business with Phil.
The gym, now called Boxing Den, will open next week, with a special opening day set to include a boxing match.
With one of the competitors having taken ill, Ben decides to get involved in the action, in a bid to impress dad Phil, who is watching on.
Things, however, don’t exactly pan out as he would’ve hoped.
Sharing a snap of the upcoming scenes on his social media, Max said: ‘Buzzing that we’ve got a proper boxing gym back in Albert square.
‘Loved shooting next weeks episodes with my brother @chrisevangelou . So good to combine my two loves, acting and boxing!
‘Tune in and see Ben bite off more than he can chew.’
The episode in question will air next Monday (March 27), with pictures of subsequent outings confirming that Ben gets quite badly beaten up as a result of his in-ring debut.

Sharon, meanwhile, will have a lot to think about during the week in question, and not just because of her brand new gym opening, but also because Keanu Taylor decides to pop the question!
