Reiss wasn’t prepared to offer that kind of sample (Picture: BBC)
Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) was more than willing to give Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) a helping hand when he found himself struggling to perform under pressure in recent EastEnders scenes.
Sonia and Reiss had gone to their appointment at the fertility clinic in order to get their IVF journey started, and were under the impression that Sonia would need to get a blood test.
However, when the doctor told Reiss that he would also need to provide a sample, he was more than happy to oblige, rolling up his sleeve and warning her of his fear of needles.
With a wry smile, the doctor informed him that there wouldn’t be any needles involved for his sample, and Sonia couldn’t contain her laughter as the penny dropped for Reiss.

While Sonia headed off to get her blood test done, she left Reiss in a private room, promising to meet him once she was done.
However, by the time she got back, Reiss still hadn’t come out, leaving Sonia concerned.
He soon popped his head around the door and informed Sonia that he was struggling with the task at hand, fretting about how the walls were paper thin.

When Sonia suggested he put a video on to help him get in the mood, he refused, explaining that it felt disrespectful.
It was then that Sonia decided she’d better give him a helping hand, to save him having to go home to collect the sample without so much pressure.

Reiss wasn’t sure what Sonia was suggesting was actually allowed, but when she pointed out that she was a nurse, he could hardly refuse.
Did Sonia’s helping hand help Reiss in his hour of need?
Honestly? We’re okay with not knowing.
