Ever since Lisa Fowler (Lucy Benjamin) fled Albert Square with granddaughter Peggy in tow, Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) has been desperate to regain custody of her, but he is set to face a devastating setback in upcoming EastEnders scenes.
Keanu was completely shocked when he learnt that daughter Peggy was back in Albert Square, and immediately rushed over to see her.
However, he was soon faced with Lisa, who clearly hadn’t forgiven him for cheating on Louise Mitchell with Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean).
Lisa soon took advantage of Keanu’s desperation to see his daughter and began blackmailing him. Viewers later discovered that Lisa needed the money to feed her gambling habit, having wracked up a lot of debt.
As Lisa’s lies unravelled, Keanu took desperate measures to gain custody of Peggy, going so far as to steal their passports so that Lisa couldn’t take her out of the country.
Ultimately, it was Sharon who helped Lisa escape, and when Keanu found out about her betrayal, their relationship began to crumble.
He was later devastated to learn that he would have to fight through Portuguese courts if he wanted any chance of getting Peggy back, a process which not only could take years and prove very expensive, but would also be unlikely to find in his favour, seeing as he was absent for the first three years of her life.
Former lawyer Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) explained that his best option was to appeal directly to Lisa, but seeing as she was ignoring his calls, Keanu turned to Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) for help.

Phil, surprisingly, took Lisa’s side in the matter, unwilling to take Peggy away from daughter Louise, and promised Keanu that he would never see Peggy again.
Keanu is set to face further set backs in his search in upcoming episodes when he receives an injunction from Lisa’s solicitor.

However, just as that is looking more and more impossible, an unexpected turn of events may change everything…
