They have to intervene (Picture: BBC)
George Knight (Colin Salmon) and Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) are forced to step in and take action in upcoming EastEnders episodes as Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) spirals out of control.
Unable to process his grief after Lola’s death, Jay has turned to drink and drugs and is now damaging his relationship with the likes of Lexi (Isabella Brown) and Ben (Max Bowden).
Elsewhere, George, Anna (Molly Rainford) and Gina (Francesca Henry) take a trip down memory lane soon when items from the bar in Marbella get delivered to the pub.
Cindy (Michelle Collins) attempts to join in, but emotions get the better of her and she rushes out.
She is then touched when George invites her back once she’s ready, but Cindy soon shows her true colours by tearing into Elaine (Harriet Thorpe) outside the pub in front of George and Anna, who dismiss her once again.

As the week continues, Gina turns her focus back to Jay, who has sourced more drugs. She offers him a bed for the night at The Vic, and then convinces her friend to return to the flat and speak with Lexi.
The next day, George grows concerned at the sight of Jay and starts to wonder if he might have a negative influence on Gina.
After another setback, Jay drinks himself into oblivion before George kicks him out after finding drugs in his belongings.
Witnessing the confrontation unfold is Linda, who decides to bar Jay from the pub.

Ignoring Gina’s concern, Jay gets into the car and decides he’s going to drive to Margate.
At the end of the week, the police arrive and inform Billy (Perry Fenwick), Ben and Callum that Jay has been in an accident, but can’t give them any updates as none of them are Jay’s next-of-kin.
