Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) puts forward an idea to Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) in EastEnders soon but due to his ongoing struggle after Lola Pearce’s (Danielle Harold) death, he reacts badly.
Lola died earlier this year after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. As Lola’s health deteriorated, the storyline also looked at how her illness impacted her family and friends, and has won multiple awards.
In the aftermath of Lola’s death, Jay has started spending time with a sex worker called Nadine (Jazzy Phoenix). After initially paying to sleep next to her in bed, Jay is now using Nadine to source ketamine.

Following an intervention from Callum (Tony Clay), Jay lied about where he was going and met up with Nadine for more drugs.
However, because Callum worked out what he was up to, he phoned the drugs unit at the station with the intention of having Nadine arrested.
Sadly, just before the police arrived, Nadine gave Jay the ketamine and ran away, meaning he was arrested instead.

Coming up, Billy runs the idea of scattering Lola’s ashes past Jay, but he bites back and laments that everyone has moved on from her death besides him.
Later, Jay gets drunk and raises Honey’s (Emma Barton) concerns before the pair have a heartfelt conversation about grief.
As Jay continues to spiral, he meets Nadine who assumes that he’s there for more drugs.

The next day, Jay is full of regret and is later propositioned by Ben (Max Bowden), who says he’ll get kicked out if he doesn’t stop taking drugs.
In the pub, Jay promises to do better, but things go from bad to worse when Nadine arrives.
But can Jay keep himself on the straight and narrow?
