EastEnders icon Michelle Collins is no stranger to drama, so it’s no surprise to hear that she’s starring in an upcoming thriller.
The Haunting of Helen’s Bridge, which is set to premiere next year, follows the malevolent spirit of Helen, a grieving mother who, overwhelmed by the loss of her child, met a tragic end by tying a noose around her neck and hanging herself from the bridge.
Speaking about her upcoming gig, Michelle told Variety: ‘I’ve never been in a horror genre movie before, so I was thrilled when this opportunity came along.
‘Despite initially being worried about having nightmares after the filming, I genuinely enjoyed the whole experience, and I’d love to make another horror now. I can’t wait for people to watch it.’
The actress, 61, made a shock return to EastEnders last year as the presumed dead Cindy Beale, taking fans completely by surprise.
It was explained that the character’s death had been faked to allow her to go into witness protection after taking a plea deal.

However, during her twenty-five absence from the BBC soap, Michelle appeared on Coronation Street as Stella Price between 2011 to 2014.
And despite being involved in some pretty explosive storylines, the star had fans in hysterics when she revealed she couldn’t remember serving as the Rovers Return landlady.

To which she replied: ‘Ha ha ! Thank you but I m not good with props , I worked in the #oldvic @bbceastenders years ago I got sacked for breaking too many glasses.’
However, @Tonysmallman4 was quick to remind Michelle that she’s no stranger to a pub setting.
‘You worked in the rovers. Lol,’ they quipped.
To which the actress simply responded: ‘Forgot!!!’
