Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) is in a very vulnerable place right now, having just split up from unfaithful husband Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).
With nowhere to live after ditching Phil and moving out of the family home, Kat was relieved when Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) threw her a lifeline by offering her a flat to stay in, rent-free.
However, this didn’t go down well with her family, who warned her that Nish was bad news – though Kat soon pointed out that it didn’t stop them renting from him.

Things escalated, however, when Nish later asked Kat to go to dinner, and though she initially declined, recent scenes showed her reconsidering the offer.
This left Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) alarmed and, in a bid to get through to Kat, she disclosed that he had tried to have Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) killed.
For some reason, this didn’t deter Kat, as she made excuses for him, before heading over to get his side of the story.

Nish was quick to explain that he had acted out in rage after learning about Eve’s affair with his wife Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), and that if he had truly meant to kill Eve then she wouldn’t be around right now.
Kat seemed to accept his explanation, and had soon agreed to go for dinner with him, though it didn’t end up being quite the lowkey affair they had anticipated.
As they prepared to get stuck into their dessert, Phil arrived with a face like thunder, in disbelief at Kat’s decision to move on so quickly. He soon ripped into her by calling her names, before she stormed out of the restaurant, hurt.

Nish was quick to follow, and soon the pair were engaging in a heart-to-heart about their failed marriages, with Kat expressing her grief at how things have turned out.
As the pair headed back to Nish’s house and got progressively more drunk, shocking scenes saw them end up in each other’s arms and sharing a passionate kiss.
Is this the start of a new romance for Nish and Kat? And given how many people have tried to warn her off, could Kat be in danger?
