David Moyes is hopeful Jarrod Bowen will have recovered from a knee injury in time to feature against Burnley tomorrow.
The West Ham winger has been in sensational form this season and has forced his way into Gareth Southgate’s England squad.
Bowen was an unused substitute in last week’s 2-0 win over Malta and had been hoping to be given an opportunity in England’s final Euro 2024 qualifier against North Macedonia.
A knee injury he sustained in training put paid to that ambition, however, and he has spent the last few days back at West Ham attempting to prove his fitness ahead of a trip to Turf Moor.
Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s game, Moyes was asked for an update on a player who has scored nine goals already this season and said: ‘We hope Jarrod will be available tomorrow against Burnley but we will make a decision on that tomorrow.’
West Ham got back to winning ways prior to the international break with a victory against Nottingham Forest, but Moyes knows his side will have to be at their best to defeat a Burnley side who will be no pushovers on home turf.
‘It’s incredibly tough to battle against relegation,’ said Moyes. ‘It’s a really difficult job.

‘It’s been a challenge for the promoted teams this season but I don’t think that’s anything to say about any gap between the two leagues.’
