Michelle Heaton has shared an update with fans on how her Dancing On Ice training is going for the 2023 series, revealing she suffered an ‘epic fall’ on the ice.
What’s more, the Liberty X singer has also been ‘learning to skate with one eye’ while dealing with a painful eye infection, which has been ongoing for several days.
Nonetheless, she’s still ‘loving’ her training, during which she’s picking up impressive skills that’ll hopefully showcase her newfound talent in her routines.
In a video shared on her Instagram Story, the 43-year-old admitted that she was ‘feeling a little bit under the weather’ while eating a bowl of hot soup.
Pointing at her inflamed eye, she said: ‘I’ve had this eye infection now for six, seven days and it’s killing me, so I’ve been learning how to skate with one eye, which has been really interesting… but still managing.’
She revealed that on the day she filmed the clip, she’d done ‘backwards skating with backwards crossovers, which was good’.

‘Tentatively and not very fast, albeit I’m still managing to do it with one eye. But yeah, I’m absolutely loving, loving the sessions on ice with my coach,’ she added, before detailing the almighty stumble she had in the rink.
‘I had an epic fall today, I definitely winded myself and my coccyx is not very happy with me, but hey ho. And now I’m back home before I get the kids and I’m looking at my script,’ she stated.
Michelle then showed a glimpse of the script for her upcoming performance in a Christmas pantomime production of Beauty and the Beast.

The play, which is being put on at The Spotlight in Hoddesdon, will see the singer take on the role of the witch who casts the spell in the fairytale.
When Michelle was confirmed as one of the celebrities in the Dancing On Ice 2023 line-up – alongside the likes of Love Island’s Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, The Only Way Is Essex star Joey Essex and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne – she expressed her excitement during an appearance on Lorraine.
‘I’m so excited – I can’t believe it,’ she said at the time.
‘Me and the kids are such huge fans of the show in general. I’ve always wanted to do it but I know I would never have been able to complete anything because of the way I was 18 months ago, so I’m really truly grateful that I’ve got it this year when I’m a lot stronger.’
Dancing On Ice will return to ITV next year.
