Dame Joan Collins has shared her excitement for the coronation of King Charles – and given an insight into their friendship.
The actress, 89, is a huge fan of the Royal Family, and has met its members – including the late Queen Elizabeth II – many times.
She holds a particular fondness for the now-King Charles, who in 2015 awarded her with a Damehood – at the same time whispering to her: ‘It’s about time.’
Now, speaking ahead of his coronation, which she will be attending as an invited guest, Dame Joan recalled some other previous meetings with Charles, cheekily hinting it might not be suitable for morning TV.
The Dynasty legend spoke to Kate Garraway and Ben Shepard on Good Morning Britain where she said she had ‘met Charles a few times, and he wrote about me.’
‘I can’t say what it was on morning TV, it was quite naughty,’ she teased.

She added that it was supposed written around the time she met Charles while ‘wearing a very, very low cut dress.’
In Christopher Anderson’s book The King: The Life of Charles III, it is reported that Charles once wrote in a letter that Dame Joan had ‘an unbelievable cleavage… all raised up and presented as if on a tray.’
Dame Joan heaped praise on the monarch, saying he was ‘charming’ and had ‘the most fantastic voice, very deep’ and ‘had the looks’ to be an actor if he had pursued the career, having been involved in acting while at school.
It will be the star’s second coronation, having been a teenager when Queen Elizabeth was crowned.

She remembered the scenes across the UK at the time, saying they had ‘never seen anything like it.’
‘I was gobsmacked. I had never seen anything like that carriage. But we’re going to see it again, aren’t we?’
Dame Joan was a huge fan of the late Queen, and paid tribute to her following her death last September by saying she ‘fell under the spell of [the Queen] the first time out of the many times I met her, and my admiration has remained undimmed throughout the years.’
